The medal that is said to be one of the highest if not the highest distinction the Empire could offer to their soldiers. Reserved solely for an individual who fought bravely under perilous conditions, the most unique aspect of this medal was the fact that majority of its recipients were already deceased. The bar was set so high that in regulation it was said that the only representation that could be shown in place of the rifle and the hat of the deceased is the Silver Wings Assault Medal.
Because of this, regardless of the recipient's rank, it was deemed appropriate for both officers and soldiers from all ranks to show them respect.
